Kimble Cook has represented private owners, municipalities, public school districts, general contractors, and subcontractors in construction disputes, real estate, and general business matters in California and Hawaii for over fifteen years.
Reported opinions include Arntz Builders v. Superior Court (2004) 122 Cal.App.4th 1195, wherein Kimble represented a general contractor against the County of Contra Costa over the County’s new $26.8 million dollar juvenile hall. He successfully settled this multimillion dollar complex litigation case involving the general contractor, multiple subcontractors, the performance bond surety, the county and completion contractor arising out of the county’s termination of the general contractor. Metcalf v. Investors Equity Life Insurance Company (1996) 80 Haw. 339.
Recent accomplishments include: Successfully mediating a dispute between a general contractor, electrical subcontractor and owner on the South San Joaquin Irrigation Districts 40-mgd $37 million water treatment plant in Manteca, California. Negotiated two multimillion dollar construction management contracts with a Marin County school district and a public housing development project in the City of Vallejo. Served as the acting City Attorney for the City of Colusa in the City’s award of a $15 million wastewater treatment plant.
