Colin E. Barr is a graduate from Denison University in Granville, Ohio where he received his Bachelor of Arts degree in economics in 1988. He received his Juris Doctor degree from Case Western Reserve University School of Law in 1991. Colin moved from Cleveland, Ohio to California in 1992 and is a member of both the California and Ohio Bars.
Since arriving in California, Colin has been employed as both in-house counsel for American International Group, as well as a large defense firm in the Los Angeles area. His practice has focused in general civil litigation, with a concentration in products liability and construction matters.
Colin has extensive experience representing various corporate and institutional clients throughout all stages of litigation, including trial. His appellate brief formed the basis of the Second District’s opinion in the landmark case Sanchez v. Swinerton & Walberg Co. (1996) 47 Cal.App. 4th 1641. Also, he was a featured speaker at the 2000 West Coast Casualty’s National Construction Defect Seminar.
